FATHER ABEL’S COLUMN – DEC. 28TH, 2014

holy-familyOur Christmas season brings us to the beautiful feast of the Holy Family. We reflect on all the wonderful graces God has bestowed upon Jesus, Mary and Joseph, and how the Holy Family was united and opened to God’s will. My prayer is that our families will also be united and open to God’s will.

I want to thank all of you for your generous Christmas Gift to our parish. Your offering to this collection helps us to meet the expenses of the parish.

I also want to thank those of you who contributed to the 2014 Annual Catholic Appeal. I remind you to please pay off your remaining balance by December 31st so all of the monies over can come back to the parish.

Finally, January 1st is the Solemnity of Mary, The Mother of God. It is a Holy Day of Obligation, Masses will be on December 31st at 7 P.M. and 12 Midnight, and on New Year’s Day at 7 A.M., 9 A.M., 12 Noon, and 7 P.M.

A Blessed New Year to all,

Rev. Kevin P. Abels

We will have the lighting of the tree next Saturday Dec. 13th, after the 5 P.M. Mass. Please come to the special event. Hot chocolate and cookies will be provided.

Next weekend, December 10th you will have the opportunity to celebrate the Sacrament of reconciliation all day, from 7:30 A.M. – 7:30 P.M. A priest will be available during this time to hear your confession. Finally, just a reminder to those of you who have contributed to the 2014 Annual Catholic Appeal, to pay off your remaining pledges by December 31st. we need to get back the amount over the goal, which as of today is 32,000!
