FATHER ABEL’S COLUMN – AUGUST 27TH, 2017

When it rains, it pours! My friends, I just wanted to bring to your attention another item that unfortunately needs repair. It has come to my attention that we need 2 new compressors for our air conditioner unit, located on the roof of the church. This is the reason why the temperature in the Church has been unstable for a time. The Church is not as cool as it should be and our vendor has informed me, upon inspection, that its time for two new ones. These units lasted since 2005.

This being said, I have placed for all of you to see and understand my position as Pastor. I want you to see what has been submitted to me. The parish is not in position of paying for this now from our operating expenses. So once again, I need your help! My goal is to raise $6,000.00 so we can put a down payment on getting the project started. The reaming 6,000.00, I will budget accordingly. I am planning on having door collections for the rest of the month into September to see if we can raise $6,000.00.

Please note: The monthly second collection for the air conditioner goes towards the paying of the electrical cost of cooling or heating the Church. The monthly electrical bill for the chapel and the Church together is around $5,000.00. The monthly second collection for this brings in around $4,500.00.

I thank you in advance for your help.
