FATHER ABEL’S COLUMN – DECEMBER 17TH 2017

Last week’s Lessons & Carols was absolutely a beautiful spiritual event. It was an opportunity for us to reflect, through music and the word of God, on the birth of the Messiah, which has brought about our salvation. A special thank you to all of the choirs in our parish for your beautiful gift of songs, which you share with us all during the year! I also thank Scott, our director of music, for providing a wonderful music program for the parish. I appreciate all of his work!

I also wanted to thank Fr. Henry and his wonderful volunteers from our Spanish Community for decorating the outside of our Church in preparation for our tree lighting. A job well done! They will also be decorating the Church this week as we approach even closer to Christmas! I can’t wait to see what they come up with! On this Gaudete Sunday, we are reminded to rejoice at the nearness of our Savior. Jesus comes each and every day of our lives. This is the real season for excitement and joy!

The fourth week of Advent will only be 1 day this year (next Sunday), Christmas Eve celebration will take place next Sunday evening beginning with our 5:00pm Mass. I am happy to let you know that some of our children form the Parish will be performing the Christmas pageant as a way of kicking off our Christmas season. I hope to see you there!

Thanks for your support.
