FATHER ABEL’S COLUMN – OCTOBER 14TH 2018

Last Thursday Bishop Massa administrated the sacrament of confirmation upon 134 young people from our Catholic Academy and Religious Education Program. It was a beautiful ceremony in which the young people of our community opened their hearts to the outpouring of God’s Holy Spirit. I am so very proud of each of them. Blessings and congrats to them and their families.

Last Friday our Parish Center celebrated its 50th Anniversary at Terrance on The Park. It was indeed a joyous celebration. Our parish truly is blessed by the Parish Center. The Center continues to be a special and important part of our Parish and community. It’s a great place for our young people, which allows them to engage in sporting events and competitions. The Center provides many people in the neighborhood and opportunity for exercise and recreation. Our center is very important to the many parish groups who use it for prayer and meetings. The event was a great success!

Thank you to all who came out to support the dinner. A great time was had by all. A special thank you to the dinner dance committee for all the work that has gone into this special evening. And of course a big thank you to the director of the Parish Center, Harry Connor, for his leadership and love of our Center over the years!

Finally, a reminder that our celebration of 40 hour devotion will begin with an opening Mass this Monday, October 15, at 7:00pm. The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed all night Monday & Tuesday until the closing Mass Wednesday at 7:00pm. Please come and spend some time with our Lord!
