FATHER ABEL’S COLUMN – OCTOBER 1ST, 2017

Father Kevin Abels

As I mentioned at the Masses last weekend, I will be celebrating a special Mass for the victims and relief efforts of all those affected by the recent hurricanes and earthquakes. The Mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 2nd at 7:00pm in the Church. I hope many of you can come.

I thank all of our ministries for their participation in our Ministry Fair last weekend. It was a great experience for all of us. I thank those of you who signed up for one of our ministries.

Please not that there will be a special Mass in honor of Our Lady of Fatima on Friday, October 13th at 7:00pm in the Church. After Mass we will have a candle light procession around the Church. After the procession, the Blessed Sacrament will also be exposed until midnight.

Beginning on Saturday, October 7th the Blessed Sacrament will also be exposed in our chapel from after the 9:30am Mass to 5:00pm. This means that the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed every day in the chapel! God is good!

As part of observing a year for vocation, we have a Vocation’s visible in our Sanctuary. Over the chair is a chasuble and stale worn by the Priest when the Holy Sacrifice of the of the Mass is offered. The reason for the chair is to encourage young men to prayerfully consider a vocation to the priesthood. I ask you when you see this vocation prayer in the sanctuary that you pray that young men in our Parish will consider becoming a priest
Thanks for your Support.
