FATHER ABEL’S COLUMN – NOVEMBER 20TH, 2016

turkeyIt’s hard to believe that thanksgiving is upon us! I want to extend wishes for a blessed Thanksgiving to you and your family. I really hope that many of you will be able to gather for a special Mass at 9am on Thanksgiving Day. I will share withyou then what I am most grateful for to God this year. Please bring any basket of food you would like to have blessed to the Mass.
As you know, I will be hosting a breakfast for our parishioners after the 9am Mass on Thanksgiving Day in the school auditorium. If you would like to attend, please call the rectory to reserve your spot. I look forward to this gathering.

Today the Church celebrates the beautiful feast of Christ the King. We celebrate Christ, as King of the world and of our hearts. Next Sunday, we begin a new church year with the season of advent. I encourage all of you to participate in our many spiritual programs as a way to participate in our relationship with the Lord. I will post a listing of events in next week’s bulletin.

Looking ahead, we will start our preparation for the beautiful feast of Christmas. In order for us to start preparing we need your help with two very important collections: The Christmas Flower Offering and My Christmas Gift to my Church. Please consider giving a $50.00 gift to our parish in this collection. It’s important that all of our parishioners give something in appreciation to God for all the Parish has done for you and for so many! I hope you will help us.

Thanks for your support.
