FATHER ABEL’S COLUMN – NOVEMBER 5TH 2017

It’s hard to believe that November is now upon us! During this Month of November, the Church asks us to intensify our prayers for our departed brothers and sisters in purgatory. The Church asks us to pray for the souls in purgatory as a way of asserting them to see our Lord in heaven.

Looking ahead, we will have our Annual Mass, sponsored by Kennedy Roth Funeral Home, on Saturday, November 18th at 10:30am, to pray for all of our loved ones who have passed away within the year! We know so many of our parishioners who have lost loved ones during the year. If you know someone grieving, please come down and join them in prayer as we take comfort in our Lord’s promise of eternal life.

Looking ahead, I am in the process of having a special Thanksgiving Mass for children and all families on the Eve of thanksgiving, Wednesday, November 22, at 7pm. More details to follow. Finally, I will be sponsoring a special Thanksgiving breakfast on Thanksgiving Day after the 9:00 AM Mass in the School Auditorium. The breakfast is free and is my gift to all of you for all of the prayers and support you give to our parish.

If you are able to attend, please call the Rectory and let me, know so we can plan accordingly.

God Bless all of you!
