FATHER ABEL’S COLUMN – OCTOBER 8TH, 2017

As announced last weekend, there will be a third collection at all the Masses this weekend to help with the relief efforts as a result of Hurricane Irma. I thank you for your support.

Bishop DiMarzio has also asked that a third collection be taken up next weekend to help with the recovery efforts due to hurricane Maria. In addition to that third collection, the diocese has also provided us a list of items needed to be sent to Puerto Rico. We at St. Sebastian will be organizing such a collection. Please see a listing of items in the bulletin. Items can be dropped at the Rectory during the week from 9:00am –8:00pm and at the Church in the front on the weekend. Thanks for your help with these important collections.

Next Friday, October 13, I will arrange for Catholic Charities to come to the rectory and arrange for these items to be sent to Puerto Rico. Please continue to keep all victims and all whose lives are devastated in your prayers.

Our next Holy Hour for vocations will be on Sunday, October 15 from 4:00pm -5:00pm in the Chapel. Please continue to pray that many more men and women will be open and consider a religious vocation in our Church.

We are looking for more of our parishioners to serve as a minister of Hospitality after Mass on Sunday. The purpose is to be available to all our parishioner and to assist them in whatever ways possible.
